Welcome. You’ve found a gentle space.

Hi, I’m Dimka Vanderhaeghen.

I am an embodied health practitioner, breathwork facilitator, and author, working at the intersection of nervous-system regulation, presence, and sustainable wellbeing in modern work culture.

My professional background began in law — a high-performance environment that ultimately led me to burnout and health challenges when my work was no longer aligned with who I am. That lived experience became the foundation of my current work: supporting people and organisations to move from chronic pressure and overload into clarity, regulation, and embodied leadership.

Today, I work with individuals and groups who operate in complex, demanding environments and who sense that resilience cannot be built through mindset alone. My approach is grounded, experiential, and deeply human. Rather than offering quick fixes, I create conditions for people to reconnect with their internal intelligence — the body, breath, and nervous system — as a source of sustainable performance and creativity.

What is often reflected back to me is not just what I say, but how I hold space: a calm, stabilising presence that allows people to slow down, reset, and access themselves differently.

Relevant Experience & Perspective

  • Background in high-pressure corporate environments
  • Extensive training in kinesiology, breathwork, and somatic regulation
  • Years of experience working with burnout, overwhelm, and chronic stress
  • Author of You Are the Operating System, a book on understanding human systems with kindness rather than force
  • Facilitator of group and organisational sessions, both in-person and online

My work translates complex concepts such as stress, regulation, and energy management into clear, embodied experiences that are accessible and immediately applicable in professional contexts.

With over 30 years of personal and professional experience, I meet each client as a whole being—body, mind, and spirit. Highly sensitive people often need a more subtle kind of listening, and that’s the core of what I offer.

Whether you’re dealing with a chronic health mystery, burnout, anxiety, or just a quiet knowing that it’s time for something to shift—I’m here to support that next step.

Your system already knows how to heal. My role is simply to help you hear it again. I listen closely to what your body reveals—through muscle testing, energy imaging, and your own awareness. My role isn’t to heal you. It’s to help you remember how.

I continue to study and I believe effective healthcare must be personalized, preventative, and deeply intuitive.

I offer 1:1 sessions online and in person, and also do keynotes, write, and guide breathwork as a doorway back to the body’s innate rhythm and intelligence.

This is my mission and my passion: Supporting highly sensitive people like yourself in restoring their vitality—both physically and mentally.
So that you can feel resilient, clear, and connected once again. And be fully present in your life and work, in a way that aligns with who you truly are.

About my relationship with breath

My relationship with breath began long before I ever called it breathwork.
At a very young age, I fell in love with breath as a living practice through music — first at the piano, and later through the trumpet.

That early relationship eventually deepened through a formal apprenticeship in breathwork, grounding my work in presence, embodiment, and respect for the intelligence of the breath.

In 1991, my understanding of breath expanded further when I trained as a trumpet player at the conservatory. There, breath, movement, and awareness were foundational elements of the work. Later, through singing studies with Anna Maria Moens, my relationship with breath deepened again — not only as a technique, but as a bridge between body, emotion, and expression.

Over the years, I’ve explored and integrated many different breathing approaches, always guided by intention: regulation, expression, grounding, expansion, or rest. One of my ongoing inspirations is Dan Brulé, whose mastery and simplicity continue to shape how I relate to breath as a universal language.

In June 2024, I began guiding Breathwork Sanctuaries — a form that brings together everything I’ve learned over the years.
It continues to feel alive, meaningful, and deeply nourishing.

Today, breath remains both

my teacher and my companion.
Not something to master,

but something to listen to
again and again.

I know what it feels like to be stuck and exhausted.

But I also know how to turn this around.

Over the years, my search for deeper connections has led me to one indisputable truth: the deepest connection is with your own authenticity. That's where the real magic happens, when you can completely be yourself.
